Sisterly Love

A couple of days ago after school we went to the park to play. It had been off and on cloudy all day but we were still wearing just jackets around. We met some friends at the park and the kids played and played and played, not a single one of them complaining that they were cold. Meanwhile, I am freezing. I wore my flip flops and before I knew it I think my toes were frozen. I just don't want to face the reality of winter. I love flip flops and I hate to wear shoes. I go from flip flops to slippers when at all possible. When I got up off the bench to come home I was pretty cold and didn't want to go back outside, I just wanted to snuggle up and get warm. When I pulled into the driveway I see that this box of packing peanuts that has been sitting by the garbage for a while has been dumped out on the driveway. I go in the house but tell the kids to get it picked up. They do not listen well they all headed to the backyard to play some more. I think they are crazy it is cold outside. After a few minutes I decide that Carson is the one that made the mess and he needs to clean it up. The girls come in the house and I lock Carson outside because he does not want to do the work. My kids like to be lazy more often than not. The girls and I warm up our dinner and start eating. I did go out and give Carson a broom and dustpan and he did start cleaning the mess up. Sierra got done with her dinner and asked if she could go help Carson. I was a little taken by surprise but made sure I told her she could but only if she didn't cause any problems while doing it. I took this sweet picture of the two of them working together. When I took the picture I told Sierra she needed to get a jacket on and I thought she was just goign to come inside and let Carson finish but she didn't she got the jacket on and went right back out to help him get done. It is nice to see the kids working together I guess it gives me hope I am teaching them some good things. Sierra was a great example of sisterly love today!! Thanks Sierra for helping your brother, I love it when you are a great helper.
