Kids are Characters

Twins, Like Father Like Son
We were having a conversation at dinner about how people say that Steve and Carson look so much alike. It was kind of funny because earlier in the day I was commenting to Steve that I knew he must have been just like Carson when he was a kid. I sent Carson to the neighbors to return some stuff I had borrowed the neighbor lives across the street and four houses down. He went to the neighbors dropped off the stuff and then went to visit the dogs next door and mossied on toward home, stopped to pick up some sparkly rocks and probably ten minutes later finally returned home. I looked at Steve and said I know you were just like that as a kid and he just laughed and admitted that ya he was. Then later I had asked Carson to take some stuff downstairs for me and then his dad threw a rag down the stairs and asked him to put it in the laundry room. Carson got so angry because he told him he was trying to put the stuff away that I had asked him to and I looked at Steve and said you can't get mad at him when I ask you to do more than one thing you can only remember one at a time. Needless to say Steve told Carson to go ahead and finish what I had ask him to do and then reminded him to put the rag in the laundry room. They are definitely alot alike.
Today Briana just got right to work after the other two kids headed off to school and she informed me this was her game. I am not sure what kind of game requires that you take everything out of your bedroom and put it in the living room but she had everything laid out just like she wanted it.

It only took a few minutes to set this up and about four hours to clean it up. If you look up by her pillow is a little garbage can I bought her for her room and she thinks it is the best thing in the world she was showing it to people on her birthday.

Sierra loves to take her own picture when she thinks I am not looking. I keep trying to tell her not to use my camera but like any typical kid do you think she listens to me???? YA RIGHT!!!

She had just gotten out of the shower and she put her hair in this side ponytail she loves a side ponytail. I think the scarf is cute too.
I just thought these were some funny pictures and things the kids were doing so thought I would share this is the best way for me to remember the cute things they do.

Happy Birthday Sierra

You should have heard the giggle when she opened this.
This was before we put the words on it

Happy Birthday Cake

Birthday Girl and Cake

We had this sign for Briana's too so I just cut Briana's name off turned it over and wrote Sierra's and retaped it to the sign. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

So we have survived our second birthday for the week. This year was kind of nice because usually their birthdays fall closer to thanksgiving so at least this year we have a day or two to eat the cake before we move on to the pies!! Here are some pictures of Sierra's birthday. She had a small pile of presents but we gave her a hand me down ipod and she was so excited, it is always good when we can actually make that girl happy. The cake was one she saw on the computer that had a picture of an actor in the middle but she didn't want that part, it turned out pretty close to the picture so I think we did good. Happy Birthday Sierra I can't believe you are already Nine. I told her this morning that she is halfway to 18. YIKES!!! Where does the time go. Thanks to everyone that called to tell her happy birthday too and for the gifts and money. She was happy with everything.

Our little princess

Yesterday was Briana's birthday, so we painted her fingers and toes and curled her hair and she was our little princess for the day. She kept asking me when she could open her presents and then when she finally got to she was the most mellow kid I have ever seen she just opened them and looked at them and didn't really show any excitement for them. She has been playing with her princess stuff all day and watching her new movie though so I think she liked what she got. I asked her what her favorite present was and this is the order they went in: Sixlets, Princess stuff, money, movie, all the rest of the stuff.

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner

So I tried a new recipe that I got out of the Kraft foods magazine. I never know what kind of reaction I will get from my kids but this one was a good one. I think Sierra had three or four helpings and the other two kids had at least two helpings each. My kids love broccoli so it was a winner for us. Plus it was so easy I already had some chicken all cooked and you use instant rice and I used frozen broccoli that I just thawed with water before I put it in so it is really like a 20 minute meal from start to finish. It called for turkey so it would be a good recipe to try with leftover turkey from Thanksgiving but I just used chicken.

Cheesy Broccoli Rice & Turkey

Total Time:25 min
Makes:4 servings, 1-1/2 cups each
What You Need
1 can (14-1/2 oz.) fat-free reduced-sodium chicken broth
2 cups chopped cooked turkey
2 cups broccoli florets
2 cups instant white rice, uncooked
6 oz. VELVEETA Pasteurized Prepared Cheese Product, cut up

Make It
COMBINE broth, turkey and broccoli in large skillet. Bring to boil. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 5 min.
ADD rice and VELVEETA; cover. Remove from heat. Let stand 5 min. or until rice is tender and VELVEETA is melted. Stir until well blended.

Kraft Kitchens Tips
Substitute
Substitute 4 small boneless skinless chicken breast halves (1 lb.) for the chopped cooked turkey. Heat small amount of oil in large nonstick skillet on medium-high heat. Add chicken; cover. Cook 5 min. on each side or until cooked through (170°F). Transfer to plate; cover to keep warm. Bring broth and broccoli to boil in large skillet; continue as directed, returning chicken to skillet along with the rice and VELVEETA.
How to Cube VELVEETA
Cut VELVEETA into slices about 1/2 inch thick. Then, cut each slice crosswise in both directions to make cubes.

Ghost sneeks up on Jared

Funny's
The teacher is grading papers a child comes up and says can I go to the bathroom? so the teacher jokes and says sure but you have to sing the ABC's so he says A B C D E F G H I J K L M N O Q R S T U V W X Y Z so she asks where's the P running down my leg answers the child
The teacher says children you must do your homework she thought the spanish kids would understand better if she said it in Spanish she didn't know how so she made it up the next day a child who speeks both languages said you told us we would die if we didn't do our homework is it true?
Sierra brought these papers to me and told me it was my newspaper for the day and I almost dismissed them without reading them but took a glance and am so glad I did it is amazing the kind of thought they put into some of these things. At least she had up to date information!!!

Esme!!!

I'm a Esme! I found out through TwilightersAnonymous.com. Which Twilight Female Are You? Take the quiz and find out!
Take the Quiz and Share Your Results!

This is what it said for Esme:
You are thoughtful and care very deeply for your family. A loving home is of great importance to you and you always try to make people feel welcome. Although you have a great capacity to love, you also have a great capacity to hurt, so at times you can be sensitive. You're firm when you need to be, but people trust your judgement and appreciate the kind way you always handle things.

I love the twilight books and saw this on a friends blog and naturally was curious so for anyone else who would like to know click the link below the picture and take the quiz!!!!

Weird?? Maybe???

Two of my friends Nicole and Dedra tagged me to write,

7 Weird or Random Facts about Me

this is what I came up with:

1. I was Valedictorian when I graduated from High School and had a four year scholarship that I only used two years of. Not like me I am usually all about the free stuff!!

2. I can shake my eyes

3. I read the obituaries everyday I want to see what young people are dying from

4. I do not like seafood

5. I hate to return things so I usually get Steve to do it for me

6. I don't really like cake I would much prefer other kinds of desserts

7. I do not like to sleep by windows even though I don't have a choice in my house right now, my dad told a scary story once of someone trying to break into a window and haven't liked it ever since

Sisterly Love

A couple of days ago after school we went to the park to play. It had been off and on cloudy all day but we were still wearing just jackets around. We met some friends at the park and the kids played and played and played, not a single one of them complaining that they were cold. Meanwhile, I am freezing. I wore my flip flops and before I knew it I think my toes were frozen. I just don't want to face the reality of winter. I love flip flops and I hate to wear shoes. I go from flip flops to slippers when at all possible. When I got up off the bench to come home I was pretty cold and didn't want to go back outside, I just wanted to snuggle up and get warm. When I pulled into the driveway I see that this box of packing peanuts that has been sitting by the garbage for a while has been dumped out on the driveway. I go in the house but tell the kids to get it picked up. They do not listen well they all headed to the backyard to play some more. I think they are crazy it is cold outside. After a few minutes I decide that Carson is the one that made the mess and he needs to clean it up. The girls come in the house and I lock Carson outside because he does not want to do the work. My kids like to be lazy more often than not. The girls and I warm up our dinner and start eating. I did go out and give Carson a broom and dustpan and he did start cleaning the mess up. Sierra got done with her dinner and asked if she could go help Carson. I was a little taken by surprise but made sure I told her she could but only if she didn't cause any problems while doing it. I took this sweet picture of the two of them working together. When I took the picture I told Sierra she needed to get a jacket on and I thought she was just goign to come inside and let Carson finish but she didn't she got the jacket on and went right back out to help him get done. It is nice to see the kids working together I guess it gives me hope I am teaching them some good things. Sierra was a great example of sisterly love today!! Thanks Sierra for helping your brother, I love it when you are a great helper.

McCain or Obama????

I thought it would be interesting to see what my kids know about the Presidential Election. I know they know kind of who the candidates are from TV and the newspaper and this is what they said. Sierra was the most informative and Carson and Briana added their little snippets here and there.

John McCain - Sierra says: White Hair, Blue Eyes, Supports - something and something and something, Gots this girl for Vice President or whatever

Orack(this is what the kids call him) Obama - Sierra says: More people are agaisnt him than McCain and he has a man Vice President
Carson says: Black hair, His whole Body is Brown

I then asked who they thought they would vote for and here are the results:

Sierra - "I don't know I would flip a coin, but probably McCain"

Carson - "Obama, because most people aren't voting for him"

Briana - " I would vote for DADDY"

I wanted my kids to know that this was a historical election, don't know if they will really remember or not because Steve and I are not major political people but we do know it is important to be informed and to cast a vote and want our kids to know about it too.

Catch Up

This is the scary picture
This is the attitude picture

Here are a couple more pictures from the Halloween Parade at school and the kids before we took off trick or treating. Sierra has some pretty good crossed eyes in the first one I didn't realize that is what she was doing!!!
