Christmas 2010

We had a great Christmas!! We made the kids sleep in until Paityn woke up which was about 7:30 a.m. everyone went to the bathroom and we got started on the presents about 8:00. I loved it cause I felt like I had a whole nights sleep and I didn't even need a nap that day!! The kids all seemed happy with what they got other than Paityn who wandered around and whined with her fruit loops in hand. We played games and hung out in our jammies most of the day. We hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!!

We had some friends over for dinner. Santa stopped by. We read Luke and acted out the nativity. We made gingerbread houses and we ended the night with a story. Thanks for coming over Banks Family.

The kids got to see Santa this year and sit on his lap. Everyone but Paityn I think loved sitting on his lap. She did like the candy cane afterwards though!!

Haircuts

These two boys were getting super shaggy and needed a haircut so Steve gave them both a haircut and now they look super handsome.

Ancestor Report

Sierra had to do a report on one of her ancestors. She chose to do her Great Grandma Holloway. We wrote down the questions we wanted answered and then Sierra asked them and I wrote them down for her. She had to write a report and make this poster and give a oral report and then they displayed their posters in the lunchroom where parents could come and look at their projects. It was fun for her to learn a little bit more about her great grandma she even reminded me a day late that we had forgotten to call her on her birthday!! I was glad she retained some of what she learned.

I decided I should quickly get caught up with this blog so I can start the new year off fresh!! I guess we didn't get too many pictures of the decorating dad was in charge of the camera!! The top tree the kids helped decorate it is full of ornaments we have received or collected over the years. Aunt Connie makes us each a new ornament each year and it is so fun to get them out and for the kids to get to put their own ornaments on the tree. The 2nd tree was my pretty tree upstairs. I knew we were getting a house before Christmas last year so I searched the after Christmas sales and found a tree and decorations for it I didn't by anything for it this year. We had bought some lights for the outside of the house too last year and it was fun to finally be able to decorate a little outside too!!
