I was skeptical at first it seemed crazy that people could really save that much money on groceries. But if you can get items for free or less than a dollar why not.
First of all I went shopping on Sat. just to come home and check the internet to find that Smith's (where I had just shopped) was going to be doing a double coupon deal Sun-tues. I got some great deals on Sat. I bought 16 different things of covergirl makeup fingernail polish, lipstick, mascara, blush, eye shadow... etc. plus some other stuff capri sun, pretzels, a roast, cough drops, shampoo, conditioner, hairspray, febreeze you get the picture anyways 52 items total and I paid $52.27 for a dollar and item not bad I don't think. Anyways I was a little bummed cause I could have saved more money if I had know they were going to do their double coupon deal.
Not to be discouraged I checked out a couple of websites that told me some other good deals and so yesterday afternoon I clipped all my coupons..... somewhere between 70-80 of them and headed back to Smith's their deal is actually better than just doubling... any coupon under a 1.00 turns into a 1.oo so one that is .25 off is really 1.00 they won't double any coupon that is 1.00 or more.
So my shopping trip today produced 76 items in all some of the great things I bought were, toothpaste, margarine, sunny d, mustard, pickles, ketchup, suddenly salad, refried beans, worchestershire sauce, gum, candy bars, granola bars, lunch meat, croutons, salad dressing, barsoap, 2 frozen lasagna's, 4 packages of burritos.......... most of these items I bought five of because I get five newspapers so that is how many coupons of each item I had. Today's overall total............................$65.05....................yep you saw it right less than a dollar a piece to be exact .86 cents each wow who can buy a package of burritos for .86 cents???? I did!!!! Actually I saved even more because my kids school gets a percentage from what I spent there and I got a 15 cent fuel reward as well so that is actually why I shop at Smiths because with all the benefits it is an awesome deal!!
I wasn't sure about this whole coupon deal at first they said the paper more than pays for itself and they were right. Just in the last two shopping trips I saved $110.65 just with the coupons and I think I paid $120 for six months worth of the newspaper. It does take a couple of months to get so many deals cause you have to save up the coupons but I look at two awesome websites that help make the process fairly painless.
Grocerysmarts will tell you the prices of items in the grocery ads in your area and then they tell you what things are a good deal buy a 4 star system. I only buy things that are a good deal. They also tell you where to get the coupon so you don't have to clip them all. You can also print your grocery list right from their site which is www.grocerysmarts.com.
Freebies 2 Deals is the other site I look at everyday and sometimes multiple times a day. This is a blog that a lady puts together and she tells you about all kinds of great deals. This is where I first saw about the SMith's deal and then went to the site she recommended to get the list of good deals. She does giveaways and tells you about rebates and exactly what to buy where to get them. She also tells you where to get the coupons so you don't have to clip them all. She also tells you how to get free samples of things I sign up for them all the time. I have gotten so many samples for tampons and pantyliners and pads and granola bars and diapers it is great everyone loves to get mail and fun stuff too its great!!
Anyways I could go on and on as you can see the other great deals I have gotten in the last couple of days is at Walgreens they often have things on sale that they will give you a register reward for that is equal to what you pay that you can use as cash the next time you buy something there so I got 4 bodywashes today from there free with the register reward and last week I had coupon to go with some razors that they had on sale and had a register reward and so in the end I actually made $3.00 on the deal. Nothing like getting paid to shop. So if you have a big family and access to the internet you might consider a newspaper subscription it could save you lots of money. There are coupons online that you can print as well www.coupons.com has a lot so you could save some if you want to print them out yourself. Both websites tell you if there is a place to print them online as well so they do the work for you.
I was just so excited about my deals the last couple of days I wanted to share them with someone. Thanks for listening!!!

I am so glad you have also gotten into the couponing world. I want to tell everyone about my couponing adventures as well. I also like krazycouponlady.blogspot.com, athriftymom.com, and fabulesslyfrugal.com.
I wish my stores out here would have double coupon day. But I don't get enough coupons to make it worth it yet. Maybe in the future. Those are some awesome savings. Keep that up and you will be able to afford to come see me. :)
Awesome! I love walking in with a wad of coupons. It's like free money. I'm going to check out those websites because I'm sure I could always do better.
