Words I never thought I would hear

The other day we had just finished dinner and everyone had left the kitchen and they were doing their own thing while I was doing the dishes. I know this sounds wrong but in the kitchen my size their is not a lot of room for extras so I usually just do most of the job myself. Anyways, I was rinsing the dishes and loading the dishwasher when Carson comes in and says
"Mom can I help you with the dishes and then maybe I could watch a cartoon? Or could I just watch a cartoon?"
I didn't really say much but started instructing him on things he could put away and what he could do to help. I didn't hear one complaint and it was so worth the couple of cartoons I let him watch afterwards. I thought it was very thoughtful of him to offer (not many kids do) even though he had an alterior motive. Thanks for all your great help Carson, I love you.
