Kids say the darndest things!

We are sitting at the dinner table eating dinner when Briana says in a whiney voice, "My Brain Hurts". It was the funniest thing, we all started laughing and she didn't want us too but I just couldn't resist. I think she is very tired and didn't know what to say. Sierra told her we could cut it out and then she wouldn't feel the pain anymore but she said no. I just asked her if her brain is feeling better and she said "ya it is feelin better" and then she said, "Do we even have a brain"?

Weekend

We hope everyone had a nice holiday weekend. We sure enjoyed the time off but tried to make good use of our time at least on Saturday. We got up and pulled the weeds in our yard. I am embarrased to say that we pulled six garbage bags full of weeds. We bribed the kids with a trip to the movie theatre for them to help and with a little coaxing they did earn their movie tickets. When the weeds were pulled we headed to the new Dr. Seuss's Horton Hears a Who. It was a cute movie just like reading a Dr. Seuss book. The kids enjoyed it but Steve was not so impressed, Oh well! We had high hopes for Monday since our garden has been tilled for about a month now and there are still no plants in the ground. I have had the plants in a box for almost two weeks but we woke up to rain, rain, rain, rain, and more rain. The kids wanted to go swimming so we headed to the indoor pool for a bit of swimming and then ran some errands and then when the kids were in bed I made some graduation hats for the little neighborhood preschool that some moms in our ward switched up teaching this year. I was in charge of a little graduation and so I made them some hats out of some construction paper. They turned out cute. Yesterday turned out to be nice and sunny so I had the graduation in my back yard and today is supposed to be nice too so maybe I will get back to the garden today.

Back Up

I have to back up a couple of weeks to Mother's Day. I wanted to post something about Sierra and so here it is. I have decided that it is nice when your kids get old enough to do things on their own and come up with their own ideas. Sierra got up early on Mother's day and she had previously made signs that said "Happy Mother's Day", "We love you", You are the best", she taped them up all over the house; I still have them on the walls by the way. Then she unloaded the dishwasher, which is amazing because it seems like getting her to clean something or to do a chore is like moving a mountain. I thought it was very sweet of her to think of these things and do them all on her own. She also made me a couple of cards and the things she wrote were very nice so I hope you can read the card from the picture. Then she brought from school the flower made out of marshmellows. I wish I had some creativity we were looking for something cute to do for primary and couldn't find anything very great but maybe I can remember for next year. I just thought it was great that Sierra put some thought and time into making Mother's Day special.

Sweet Moments

Sometimes there are just moments that are so sweet you can't resist taking a picture of them. We were having some apple pie and ice cream for dessert and Briana was eating hers in the kitchen and everyone else was eating theirs in the living room. When Sierra was done with hers and took her dish to the sink this is what she found!! How cute, at least she was able to eat most of her pie before she fell asleep.

"MOMMER"

Cute Miss Briana is so helpful. We watch my nephew three days a week and one day this last week he had pooped his pants and was hungry all at the same time so I made a bottle that I sat on the rocking chair and then sat on the floor to change his bum. As soon as I got started with the diaper change Briana grabbed the bottle and came to feed him on the floor. I quickly said put that back I am changing him first and she quite cutely said, "But I'm a good mommer." Needless to say I had to let her feed him after that so here she is being a good mommer to cute little Kaden.

Funny & Interesting

This came from www.greatestjournal.com/quiz.bml?Q=16354&m=-1
You Are Cinderella!

Dignified and hard working. With a gentle and soft-spoken manner you have something many people don't. Patience. Even through the moments of heartbreak you're still able to hold onto all of your hopes and dreams. Bide your time; your dream will come true.
I am not sure about the gentle and soft-spoken manner and the patience, I wonder if the kids would agree?

The President

I help in Carson's preschool class every week and this week his teacher told me the cutest thing. The teacher was talking with her aide about another teacher that had just got her residency and they were discussing the three questions she was asked at her hearing. One of the questions was who is the President of the United States. Carson happened to be listening to the conversation and piped in with DUHH! President Monson. I thought it was so cute. I think he has no clue of who President Bush is, anyways I thought it was funny.

About Time

It seems like many friends and relatives are blogging and I think it is so fun to read and see what everyone is up to and what a fun way to see how kids are growing too. Schools out for the summer for me so I thought I would take a stab at blogging too a fun way to keep in touch.
